Up until yesterday, I was able to listen to Youtube in the original language of the video, be it Spanish, English, Portuguese or other. Today, however, the videos I watch regularly are no longer in their original language, just Spanish. When I change the settings to English for an English language video, there's no sound at all. Can anyone tell me what might have happened, and how I can configure Youtube to use the original language of the video? I'm using a Firefox.based browser (Floorp) but get the same results on Firefox (snap edition).

I see you are on 24.04.
It's a sound problem, not a subtitles problem.
Frankly, I don't have that problem in 22.04, but I looked at available Firefox settings, and don't see any that apply, just as you have checked.
Now ... you're a geek, ok ... so am I, kind of ... but ...
so often, using Firefox (in 22.04 and before), suddenly there is no sound on the YT video.
And it has always been that "something" turned it off ON the video screen (slash mark through the mic on screen),
and/or in my system tray where either 'devices' tab or 'applications' tab has held the answer,
and/or "something" turned those sound controls down to nothing.
No one else has replied yet. I assume you have checked this obvious nuance/nuisance possibility I'm referring to.An intellectual says a simple thing in a hard way. An artist says a hard thing in a simple way. Charles Bukowski

It's working properly again. All I did was to change the settings on one video to English (its original source) while keeping the Spanish settings for all the rest. I tried several videos with different source languages and they all played correctly. Seems like a fluke more than anything else. Thanks for replying.
