[RESOLVED] Unable to upgrade from 22.04 "Please install all available updates for your release before upgrading."

Held packages are python3-apt and python3-minimal.

most things I see online tell me to uninstall held packages before trying the upgrade again, but from what I know, python packages are *extremely* important, and shouldn't be removed. I would've done this earlier, but it's a custom system and I really was worried about this, and other issues that might screw up what I've got going on.

If possible, I'd prefer not to have to clean install, or do an install that risks losing what I've manually installed, added services (user and system), or files. Any help would be appreciated.

i would just make a note of those packages and then uninstall them.

after then upgrade you can re-install what every their 24.04 equivalent is (assuming there is one, or that they are needed).

Thanks for the suggestion. Instead of doing this, I used Discover's Software Sources window to just disable all repositories, then ran the necessary commands again. This allowed the upgrade.
