    about the checksum

I've downloaded the Kubuntu 24.04 LTS from https://kubuntu.org/getkubuntu/, from the "Alternative downloads, torrents, mirrors and check-sums ›", i get Checksum:

    SIte:
    ec3db0c5179556a9f5ff0895c57935ed1789612459e42558c2 4387b3b0b19b
    Konsole:
ec3db0c5179556a9f5ff0895c57935ed1789612459e42558c2 4387b3b0b19b0c using the method listed here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToSHA256SUM

    is this normal?

I think the hash on the https://kubuntu.org/alternative-downloads/ is in error, missing the last 2 hex digits. 256 bits is 64 hexadecimal digits, and on that page there's only 62.

I presume somebody has done a copy/paste and didn't quite catch the whole string.

Now, don't worry, a one bit change anywhere in the iso would produce a completely different hash, so matching 62 of 64 digits is only infinitesimally (I would guess of the order of 1 in 264) less sure.
