    AMD GPU black screen

    Hello all,

I've swapped out my old Nvidia gpu to an AMD 6600. When I can boot into KDE everything seems fine - stable, but

Sometimes I get a black screen on a boot, no cursor - solid black screen, monitor is still working, system doesn't appear responsive, can't control - alt - f1 - I'm not seeing any "no signal errors". A reboot may occasionally fix, sometimes going into safemode, then restarting will let me back in. I know the GPU is fine, I can access BIOS.

I am using a DVI to displayport converter, I've seen a similar post where this was the issue. Anybody seen anything like this ?

    Thanks,

Updating - I have been experimenting with a few things and Googling this :

    https://www.reddit.com/r/Kubuntu/com...splaygraphics/

Seems to have sorted it. More specifically the advice to remove splash from the grub config file. I've rebooted a few times and things appear to be normal again (I'll update if it resurfaces, I'll leave the link here in case it helps somebody else).
