    Cannot save nvidia-settings

Even under root (sudo su), when I do "Save to X configuration file" I get
    Code:
    Error executing /usr/share/screen-resolution-extra/nvidia-polkit: Permission denied

ERROR: Unable to open X config file '/etc/X11/xorg.conf' for writing.

If /etc/X11/xorg.conf doesn't already exist: did you try to create one before opening nvidia-settings ?

Same thing: even when I create an empy /etc/X11/xorg.conf in the first place, I get
      Code:
      Error executing /usr/share/screen-resolution-extra/nvidia-polkit: Permission denied
ERROR: Unable to open X config file '/etc/X11/xorg.conf' for writing.

        Bypass:

Do a preview in the save dialog, copy the text to the clipboard (ctrl-C), and save it manually to /etc/X11/xorg.conf (ctrl-V) using nano, kate or whatever (with sudo)
