    No sound when emptying trash

When testing Trash: Emptied the sound plays. But when actually emptying the trash, no sound is played. This is of course, not really a big deal, but I'd like to know why, when a sound is specified, it doesn't play when the trash is being emptied.

We have the same Global Theme. Your screenshot looks different from mine. I haven't changed the defaults. Are you on 26.04?
I have sound when I empty the trash.

No. This is on my 24.04, thus my posting here.

I'm sorry. You are on 24.04. Duh... That's the section I'm in. My screenshot is actually from 26.04. I don't have a 24.04 install. Stepping aside for someone else to help.

The "Test" button in System Settings → Notifications only verifies that the sound file can be played. It doesn't verify that the application or service actually emits that notification event.

          When you empty the trash:
Do you get a popup saying "Trash emptied"?
Does it appear in the notification history (bell icon in the system tray)?
If no popup appears, then Dolphin isn't generating that notification at all, which explains why no sound plays.
If a popup appears but there is no sound, then the notification is being emitted but the sound isn't being honored, which is likely a Plasma bug.

When I right-click on Trash icon in the System Tray, I get this pop-up window:

Clicking Empty Trash empties the trash and this pop-up closes. That's it. No sound when the trash is emptied.

configure sound here, but it only seems to give the notification and make the sound if you empty the trash from dolphin rather than the widget context menu.
