Distorted display after sleep or hibernation

When my desktop system wakes up from sleep or hibernation regularly the display is distorted. The only solution is a complete reboot.
It starts with the cursor in the middle of a small striped square. Later the edges of windows and mostly picture in the browser become striped.
(I don´t get it how I can include the screenshots I have.)

Anyone has a solution? Or should I get a new video card?

    Kubuntu 24.04 Plasma Wayland
    Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4460
    GF108 [GeForce GT 730]
    Memory 24GiB
    Display 2 x HP CompacLA2405x 1920 x 1200 60 Hz

with that old of a GPU you might be looking at end of life, or at least end of driver support.

you don't say if you are using the kernel driver or a proprietary driver (and if so which one, and how did you install it)

      Thanks
The driver info is (I think):
VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GF108 [GeForce GT 730] (rev a1) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller])

Btu I'll get a new video card.
