you might be confusing your login screen (plasma) with your lock screen (SDDM).... they are different systems with their own theming and controls.

if you want the SDDM theme to match your global theme, i guess look for a 3rd party developer that does both and you might find more consistency.

personally, i use monochrome by patrik wyde because i like how clean it is and how different it is from the lock screen, but you can add a background picture to it that matches your lock screen if you want.

edit: apparently you cannot add a pic

My guess is that you're changing Login screen settings (SDDM) instead of lock screen theme settings. Try this:

      1. Open System Settings
      2. Go to Workspace Behavior
      3. Go to Screen Locking
      4. On that screen, next to the word "Appearance" click the Configure button

This screen works essentially like setting the background on your desktop. Once you set your options, and choose an image (or folder), just click apply, and your lock screen should have the new settings.

Edit: Sorry! I misunderstood. By default, I don't think Plasma themes (such as Breeze or Breeze Dark) get applied to the lock screen. As suggested by the post above this one, you may need a 3rd party app to handle this.
