LibreOffice Writer menu bar

    That is the application menu bar, the MacOS like top bar that shows.....application menus.
    More specifically, it is the "Global Menu" widget on an otherwise empty thin panel. The 'Add Panel' context menu on the desktop will show this as an option.

    Not every program supports this, but KDE/Qt at the very least should. Obviously libreoffice does as well.
    Remove it if you want this to go away.

      Wow, that brings the issue into focus! I heard that it's standard on Mac's, and that's what you say.

      Remove it if you want this to go away.
      But, if I remove it, will I be able to get that LO Writer Menu bar on my LO Writer window, right below the Title bar?
      I feel I really need that darned Menu bar in Writer.

        Yes. Well, it should. It does on my system
