Need text editor that easily(!) colourises prose text

    Hi,

I am trying to find a text editor that will allow me to colorize prose text but cannot seem to find one. I know that the txtfmt plugin for Vim looks to be what I need but cannot get that plugin "stitched" into Vim. I know that there are many text editors that provide color syntax highlighting for source code but that color highlighting ability seems to be missing for prose text.

Does anyone know of a (preferably gui-based) text editor that will allow me to easily change the foreground color of some text ?

I think you will need a word processor (like the aforementioned LibreOffice Writer) for this if your Vim plugin doesn't work…

Calligra Words would be one of the simpler solutions:
      https://calligra.org/words/

      sudo apt install calligrawords
      Debian KDE & LXQt • Kubuntu & Lubuntu • openSUSE KDE • Windows • macOS X
Desktop: Lenovo ThinkCentre M75s • Laptop: Apple MacBook Pro 13" • and others

get rid of Snap script (20.04 +)reinstall Snap for release-upgrade script (20.04 +)
install traditional Firefox script (22.04 +) • install traditional Thunderbird script (24.04)
