Grand Theft Auto V for Kubuntu 22.04

Has anybody got GTA to run under Kubuntu? I've got a windows laptop that I could use, but my Linux system is more than powerful enough to run it. I just don't want to back to dual booting and prefer to run it under Kubuntu.

Tips/Suggestions, etc to get it to run? I've read about Crossover, Proton, Wine, but not sure where to start.

From late 2019, but maybe a starting place: https://www.addictivetips.com/ubuntu...to-5-on-linux/

Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007.

It won't be anywhere nearly that hard to run the game today. There have been massive improvements with Proton since 2019 when the article was written. There is a decent chance the game Just Works, possibly with nothing more than installing and launching it via Steam.

A good resource for Steam games on Proton:
        https://www.protondb.com/app/271590
(skip over the topmost section relevant to the Steam Deck)

if you want to try using GloriousEggroll's custom Proton builds:
        https://davidotek.github.io/protonup-qt/
This GUI tool takes care of setting things up for you.

Switching between different Proton version will be the same as shown on the page.

        Self-built: Asus PRIME B550M-K/Ryzen 5600GT/32Gb/Intel ARC B580 12Gb/KDE neon
        HP Elitedesk 800 G3 Mini: i5-7500T(35w)/32Gb/Kubuntu LTS

Pleased to announce that the game installed successfully, and it indeed Just Works. The only hiccup I've had so far is that it crashed on one of the missions I was doing. Otherwise it's been solid. I really enjoy it running on my desktop, and not hearing my poor laptop's CPU fan sounding like an aircraft engine trying to run the game!
