My mouse takes several minutes to start working

It was working but a few days ago it started taking several minutes to start moving right after re-booting or re-logging. It works just fine after several minutes. Did the firmware get bugged in an update?

it probably is because no one really has a clue as to why this could be happening.
The most likely thing that affects wireless dongles is radio and electrical interference. other wifi dongles, bluetooth, phones, even just 'leaky' wires in electrical devices.

It sort of stinks that the mouse and kb can't use the same dongle, but I know the G series mice use different wireless tech, since they have reduced latency for gamers, etc that can't work with the Unifying receivers.

It was working just fine a while back. The battery shows at 50% and it only does this at boot time. After a few minutes, it works just fine. It is only during and about 3 minutes after boot then it starts working and behaves itself thereafter.

I don't use wireless devices at all, but there might be something logged…

Log files can be found in /var/log/
One can also use tools like dmesg or journalctl in a terminal emulator or graphical tools like KSystemLog.

The dongle was plugged into a USB 1.1 port. I moved it to a 3.1 port so I will see if that fixes it.
