[RESOLVED] Kubuntu 22.04 - Maximum number of clients reachedError: unable to open display :0

    Hello all.
Everything was running fine on my PC with Kubuntu 22.04 for a year or 2.

On Thursday, Jan 05, 2023, I replaced my nVidia GTX 980 4 GB card with a AMD RX 8600 16 GB card.
For the AMD, it uses an open source driver that is already in the kernel, while previously, I would use the nVidia driver.

    I had kernel
    5.15.0-56-generic #62-Ubuntu SMP Tue Nov 22 19:54:14 UTC 2022 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

On Friday, Jan 06, 2023, there was a kernel update.
    5.15.0-57-generic #63-Ubuntu SMP Thu Nov 24 13:43:17 UTC 2022 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

On Friday, Jan 13, 2023, there was a kernel update.
    5.15.0-58-generic #64-Ubuntu SMP Thu Jan 5 11:43:13 UTC 2023 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Now, sometimes when I launch a game from Steam, the window doesn’t come up.
    Games like Battlefield 1, Left 4 Dead 2, Tomb Raider, Half-Life 2.
Other programs don’t open either, such as System Monitor, KCalc, Kate, Konsole and there is a KDE crash notification that appears in the system stray.
It looks like a blue water splash icon.
If I lock the screen, some text says to log into Ctrl-Alt-F2 and then execute loginctl unlock-session 3 (Yes, that works to unlock the screen).

When I close Steam, I can open apps again.
I can open Steam and run some games again but eventually, the same problem repeats.

Is there something wrong with 5.15.0-58-generic?

Oh yes, the reason why I see
Maximum number of clients reachedError: unable to open display :0

is that when the Konsole is open, I run
    glxinfo | grep OpenGL

when I close Steam, it works. I get

    OpenGL vendor string: AMD
OpenGL renderer string: AMD Radeon RX 6800 (sienna_cichlid, LLVM 13.0.1, DRM 3.42, 5.15.0-58-generic)

Sometimes, it works without closing Steam.

Ok, looks like Steam updated itself and the problem disappeared.
