sudo apt upgrade && sudo apt full-uprade

    When that finishes:

    sudo do-release-upgrade
Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007

First, make sure your backups are current, for anything you don't want to lose.

The easy way... wait and Kubuntu will suggest it to you. That might be a few weeks, it might be today.

Otherwise, assuming you have a decent internet connection, open a konsole and run
        Code:
        sudo do-release-upgrade
It will take a while, maybe hours, depending on how much software you've installed.

BTW, it's not possible to upgrade using a iso, unless you do a reinstall. (Some would recommend that, and it is much faster. If you don't reformat /home you'd keep most of your settings, but you'd have to reinstall any software you've installed.)
