    graphics performance Nvidia laptop

Hello, I'll start by saying that's not a very experienced Linux user. I've been using kubuntu 20 on an old laptop for six months and really like the experience.
Recently bought a new laptop but the graphical performance is pretty bad. Laptop has Intel CPU and Nvidia 3080 dedicated graphics plus 165Hz screen. In windows the experience is buttery smooth, but in Kubuntu it behaves like I have a 30Hz screen.

I have installed Nvidia drivers (currently 470 but I have tried several versions all with the same result)
I have tried switching prime select between Intel and Nvidia, both give the same result
In the display config my screen is recognized correctly, 1440, 165Hz
I have tried a suggested solution by installing compizconfig and unchecking sync to Vblank, results the same.
Have tried Kubuntu 20 and 21, both have the same behavior.

Is there anything else I can try? I don't really want to go back to windows as my daily OS.

    Thanks in advance.

Working...
