[SOLVED] How to play dvd's in 21.10

I apologize if this is in the wrong place.
How would I get a dvd to play in 21.10? I have been googling and following guides without any success for a day and a half

Do you have VLC? When you put a DVD (movie I assume) in what does VLC say?
Lastly it's all about the codecs. I'm sure every site you visited mentioned how to install them.

Thanks. Got it working. That was one of the things I tried, but for some reason it decided to work today
