    Booting ...How to stop Kubuntu Logo and have text based Boot instead ?

    Hi,

    All I want to see on boot is the actual text of what is booting and not see the glowing Logo.
    If I press Escape key, I can see the text, but I would like to see it on every boot ?

    I have searched online and tried every recommendations but none seem to work.
    I changed the Grub as recommended and did update using Grub Customizer.
    GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=""
    GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=""

    But still the Logo is shown.

    I tried removing via Muon ... plymouth-theme-kubuntu-logo and plymouth-theme-kubuntu-text.

    But still the Logo is shown

    Any ideas ?

    Thanks

    What's that? Standard approach would be to run sudo update-grub in a konsole.

    That should work, but only after /boot/grub/grub.cfg is regenerated. Can you show us the linux line in the menu entry you boot from?

      Hi jlittle

      Your answer made me look deeper into my boot process.

      Grub Customizer is a GUI front end to configure grub ... https://launchpad.net/grub-customizer
      I find it useful as, I am a newbie to Linux.

      But this was part of the problem, I think somehow it intervenes in the Grub boot process.
      I looked at my boot file configured in Grub Customizer and found there was still a line with the words ... quiet splash $vt.handoff

      On removing these, I can now boot with text instead of the Kubuntu Logo !

      Thanks for your help
