Power saving/Poweredevil seems to be malfunction

    Power saving/Poweredevil seems to be malfunction

    Hello,

    No matter what changes I make in Power Savings, they/it don't apply for some reason. Same things happens also in Manjaro Plasma when I was using it. It complaining about a shared library which I can't find in the repositories.

    Solved it by re-installing kubuntu. No idea what went wrong in the first place.

        Maybe try a Bios update? Yours is from 2017, worth looking there:

        A somewhat recent one shows this:

        These lines don't mean anything is wrong. I have these on both my laptop and PC, all have fully working power saving settings.

        I also have the missing plugin line, though my laptop is 20.04, running Neon, so it has a newer Plasma. I get extra info that may be relevant.and simply not showing on Kubuntu
        Note that this message is neither a warning nor an error -simply informational.

        I get the same exact output on my 18.04 based Neon PC.


        TMI time:
        The 'missing library' is related to the GUI for the power management section of System Settings, and not the actual power saving settings itself. System Settings is looking for 'kcm_powerdevilprofilesconfig'
        but that does not exist, so a Desktop file is called to open it instead (/usr/share/kservices5/powerdevilprofilesconfig.desktop)

        so instead of kcmshell5 kcm_powerdevilprofilesconfig, it finds the desktop file, and calls it with kcmshell5 powerdevilprofilesconfig

              Could you please mention the particular setting(s) so we can take a look?

              BTW, with inxi,
              I think c0 is no longer necessary
              and
              inxi -Fxxxz will provide more information than the code you used in the first post. In general, newer versions of inxi support xxx and searching man inxi for --extra 3 will provide more information.
