[SOLVED] Snap hangs during shutdown, cannot remove snaps due to change in progress

Hi! I am running Kubuntu 20.04. I have the following problem: When I shut down my system, it takes a long time to shut down. The shutdown screen says:

    Code:
    A stop job is running for Snap Daemon (... / 1min 30s)
This happens on every shutdown, and hangs until the 1 min 30 seconds time out. In an attempt to debug this I figured I'd remove some of my snaps.

I have the following snap packages:

    Code:
    spectrum@spectrum-desktop:~$ snap list

I want to remove foobar2000 and chromium.

    Code:
    spectrum@spectrum-desktop:~$ sudo snap remove foobar2000

error: change finished in status "Undone" with no error message
foobar2000 would loop forever with that message until I cancelled it using Ctrl+C.

    Now trying to remove chromium:

    spectrum@spectrum-desktop:~$
It complains about a change in progress. Aborting the change in question does not help.

Am I doing this wrong? Thanks.

I am guessing because I do not have any snaps installed. Have you tried removing the snaps through Discover? Hopefully someone with experience with snaps will come along.

Are you using EXT4? You may have a corrupted file system.

I could have sworn I had already tried that. But now I tried to remove the snaps via Discover and that got rid of them. Thanks!

I removed all the snaps I don't think I need (keeping only Spotify). And now the performance problem seems gone. Woo!
