[SOLVED] Can't install the iron browser.

Today I noticed a post in a Firefox newsgroup about a particular website causing huge use of RAM by Firefox.
    This is the site/page: http://https://www.mirror.co.uk/news...china-25453267

Indeed, a process called 'web' keeps gobbling ever more memory.
Because other pages on the same tabloid don't exhibit the problem it is probably a scripting error on the site.

Yet I tried it in Chrome and Chromium and they don't give excessive memory use.
Next I wanted to try this in iron64, another 'safe' browser based on the Chrome that I've used in the past.
    https://www.srware.net/iron/

I can download the .deb but it fails to install.
I tried with QApt but it gives no info except 'done'.
Via the CLI I get the message 'Can't find package iron64.deb'

    Anyone has an idea?

      Good tip.
I was indeed able to install iron64 via gdebi.
But I don't understand why this did not function via apt install.

Nasty is that I now have a boot problem, after the login I get no further than a black screen...
I feel it can have something to do with the loads of dependencies gdebi pulled in.
Presently using the second boot option neon.

Just a note that I had no trouble with that website using FF 94.0 I've seen memory problems before, but it's always been with ads.

Curious but encouraging you did not have problems with the site.

Btw, I found out why I get a black screen, the root drive is full.
          Now I have to repair.

The repair is done and it seems the installation of iron64 was also hindered by the lack of space on the root partition.
I still get the runaway memory use with Firefox on the site mentioned, it does not happen with other browsers.
