    etc/securetty missing

    On trying to run any appimage file I'm getting the error etc/securetty missing

    The appimage just fails to open, nothing else to comment on. The above error line is in the system log.
    Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks very much

    Keeping in mind the caveat that I know nothing about AppImage, what about checking to make sure you're good on its core files? In Synaptic, look for libappimage0; if it isn't installed, install it; if it is installed, re-install it (you may want to completely uninstall it first). Let us know if the problem persists.

      It would help to see the exact error message lines, for more context.
      As well as some specific examples of specific appimages, to see if this can be reproduced.

      /etc/securetty hasn't been in Ubuntu, or Debian for a little while now, well since 19.10 in Ubuntu, inherited from Debian, so the error, (warning, or simple message?) seems odd, and I think it is completely unrelated to appimages anyway.
      'securetty' = 'secure tty'
