[SOLVED] Cannot shut down Kubuntu 20.04

Ok, what on earth was this? Of all moments, right before I had to go doing something else I wanted to shut down Kubuntu 20.04. I got a message of a certain crash/bug and it seems te application that shuts down the system did not work anymore. Pretty annoying. I could not use a command in the terminal. That is: what should be the command as found did not work. I was in a hurry so I had to pull the plug.

Result: System won't start anymore. I does however start while using advanced options in the grub and selecting an earlier kernel. But I want to recover the latest and I want that bug going away.
Repairing damaged packages in the recovery mode did not help.

Does anyone know what will help?

For those who are interested: I solved it myself after all. https://phoenixnap.com/kb/how-to-upd...ftoc-heading-9 the first three steps of this tutorial is about forcing a kernel upgrade.
