Deleted logical volume mapper for encrypted system

    Hello,

    Background:
I have Kubuntu 20.04 (encrypted lvm) installed on /dev/sdb. I also tried to install Kubuntu 21.04 on /dev/sda, but I was unable to use it (unsure why, but that's not the issue). Since I couldn't use that installation, I tried to install openSUSE on /dev/sda instead.

    Issue:
As part of the installation process, the installer for openSUSE had to delete the device volume mapper (?) for Kubuntu 21.04 on /dev/sda. However it seems that this mapper had the same name as the mapper for Kubuntu 20.04 on /dev/sdb, which openSUSE seems to have removed as well! /dev/sdb1 and /dev/sdb2 are still present, but /dev/sdb5 and /dev/sdb6 (contained within the encrypted /dev/sdb2) are now inaccessible, and Kubuntu 20.04 on /dev/sdb of course does not boot).

    Further info:
OpenSUSE also failed to install properly, so I am currently using a live USB with Kubuntu 21.04.
As you can imagine, I'm worried about data loss if I can't somehow regain access to /dev/sdb6. I would greatly appreciate assistance.

    Summary:
    Encrypted Kubuntu 20.04 on /dev/sdb6
Deleted device volume mapper for /dev/sdb
    /dev/sdb5 + /dev/sdb6 inaccessible
    /dev/sdb1 + /dev/sdb2 still present
Request assistance regaining access to /dev/sdb6
