Support of NVIDIA G98M/driver 340.108

Hello,
I have an old Sony VAIO Laptop with the following graphics equipment: NVIDIA G98M [GeForce 9300M GS] driver: nvidia v: 340.108 (Kernel 5.4.0-48-generic).
Will this be supported by Kubuntu 20.10?
Some time ago I seem to have read that driver-nvidia 340.108 will NOT be supported anymore after Kubuntu 20.04 and kernel 5.4.
Thanks for any hints.

That I believe is correct. Nvidia 340 won't work on anything past kernel 5.4 no matter which distro, You will have to use the stock open source Nouveau drivers
