No audio devices detected after todays NVIDIA update

I get no audio after today's update! How do I revert the update?
Just to remind users and devs that Ubuntu and its flavors have a long way to go to be as usr friendly as they should be.

I got to thinking that maybe it didn't reboot properly since the KSM greeter crashed and I had to use sudo reboot. Apparently I was correct because a second reboot via the normal menu worked. Now my audio is detected.

There was a kernel update today (I don't have anything Nvidia related) so you might try choosing a previous kernel in the grub menu and see if sound works there, maybe

step #1 on this page https://help.ubuntu.com/community/So...otingProcedure very often fixes 'lost' sound cards (ignore the rest of the page)
this stops pulseaudio, deletes it's local configs, and restarts pulseaudio. Sometimes (as noted) a reboot is needed for some systems.

In the future you might consider Timeshift.
