    So the actual sound card can be seen. But under my audio settings it shows "dummy output"

    Any other info that's needed I can provide just not sure what to include.

    Welp.... fixed it myself with "sudo alsa force-reload" I'll leave the post here for posterity...

      My kubuntu does something like this occasionally; on boot the "Line Out" device has disappeared. The workaround that has worked the last two times is
