    Kde 5.18

Hey everyone. New Kubuntu user here. Decided that other DE’s are not my cup of tea,and installed Kubuntu Focal.

All ,well except for one thing,is well . Got an Intel PC,with nvidia graphics, using Xorg . Nvidia works just fine ,but I have a small nag, sort of speak : when is there medium to high Disk I/O , I get these Short micro-stutters in Plasma (whatever I’m doing, especially Video or gaming stutters for a second.

Edit : Even moving windows on the desktop or opening Dolphin stutters in that moment .

Anyone knows a cure ? I dunno if its the Disk scheduler, the plasma itself (5.18) or what . Thanks

Some more details on your hardware, particularly the storage, might be interesting.
when is there medium to high Disk I/O... stutters...
This sounds a lot like the Linux I/O scheduler problems. These were very hardware dependent, inexplicably so.

Sure . Intel 10th gen CPU , Nvidia 1660 , SSD 512 Gb Kingston ,SATA III , 8 Gigs of RAM , using Kubuntu Focal . All default settings, except some theming .
      Thanks .

I dunno what scheduler does Focal use, I would presume it is optimised for SSD ..

Edit : I seem to remember though, when I was testing,in the past, KDE Neon ,also based on ubuntu 20.04 ,If I recall correctly, Plasma didnt have this stutter on Disk I/O , so maybe,Kubuntu uses a different scheduler .
