tried installing 26.10 five times today, and every time the installer would start to a full screen (not a fan at all of that full screen installer without any window controls) and it would be black. then after a minute or so, the entire system would do a complete hang, requiring either a power button reset or total power down.
tried with multiple drives, thinking maybe the formatting was an issues, so brand new drive didn't work, ssd didn't work, ssd with windows didn't work. every time the system would hang without error at the full screen black screen.
after 26.10 i tried installing 26.04, and that installer started correctly, but the first install failed, but the second install seemed to finish without issue. the failures don't seem sporadic enough to be a random hardware issue, and 24.04 works on that machine, as does windows.
