[Pre-Install] Upgrade - no new release found

Trying to upgrade from 26.04 LTS to 26.10. Yes, have prompt=normal in update-manager. with do-release-upgrade get:"No new release found" and adding -d get "Could not download the release announcement. Please check your internet connection." My connection works for keeping 26.04 upgraded. What to do?

Your second error seems to indicate a local or temporary networking problem getting the required file, or there is a problem on the Ubuntu server.
Ubuntu infrastructure has been getting hit by ddos attacks lately., or the servers are just getting hammered by users

The actual file, the announcement text file, definitely is not there:

I have upgraded a VM here in the past week using the -d option as upgrades have not been made official yet, so this would probably be a temporary problem.

When will the automatic update to version 26.10 be available?

It is still not enabled yet.

Do make sure you have set up Upgrades settings nor "normal release" via the Software Sources button in Discover's settings area.

You can use the command-line option as described in the link above to 'force' it if you want to.

Now "do-release-upgrade -d" tells me that "Upgrades to the development release are only
available from the latest supported release". I just want to upgrade to 26.10 from 26.04, yes normal

Did you change the upgrade setting in the Software Sources tool from "LTS" to "Normal"? The message seems accurate if it is still set to "LTS only"
This is how I upgraded to 26.10 here:

I'd have linked to the info in my first link, but that is Ubuntu Desktop specific, so it is not useful in Plasma.
