tried installing 26.04 today from an august download - maybe that was the issue, but the install was horrible. the first install was "full install with download updates" and that failed at 87% for some error - i think it was a snap message but i don't remember
then with just "normal install" and no updates it finished
both installs were with 2 encrypted partitions
the reboot after the second install came up where the first partition password worked, but then the second partition password locked up. this is the same symptom as with 24.04, that started last november, but then got fixed at some point around august? the only workaround for the 24.04 bug was to go into a recovery mode boot and that seemed to allow 2 passwords to work.
trying recovery mode in 26.04 locks the system up before the second password prompt even appears. the systemd-rf-kill step. with a regular boot in 26.04, the first password is accepted then the gui locks on the screen to enter the second password, but nothing works once that gui screen appears. the text box doesn't become active.
maybe the 26.04.1 installer is better?
the last update for 24.04 also killed multiple partitions as well, requiring the "recovery mode" option for entering the second password. entering the second password in recovery mode still works on 24.04, but 26.04 hangs before that even in recovery mode.
all these failed updates makes me never want to update once i get a stable login on the system.
