[Post-Install] Trash not available in this location - began after upgrade from 24.04 to 26.04

I have my Documents, Videos, Downloads, and Music all mounted at a non-default location on a separate BTRFS volume.

Prior to upgrading to 26.04 trash worked flawlessly. Now when I delete a file in all of those locations, I get the message "Trash not available in this location". I can delete permanently. But not move to trash.

Is there a way to configure trash to work with my setup?

    My Setup in Brief
I have all those under /mnt/data/[Documents, Downloads, Music]

I have a multi boot setup and I use this peculiar setup so that all those directories are accessible from any booted distro.

i would go back into the trash settings page and remake all the trash locations

if you can document what you had to fix and file a bug report, it might be helpful for the next upgrade but going from plasma 5 to 6 is bound to have some collateral

The mount point is owned by root:root with permissions 755, so the normal user cannot create a trash directory there. That is likely why Dolphin cannot use a top-level trash directory on this volume.

I'd suggest creating the user-specific trash directory:
          Code:
          sudo mkdir /mnt/data/.Trash-1000
          Code:
          sudo chown 1000:1000 /mnt/data/.Trash-1000
          Code:
          sudo chmod 700 /mnt/data/.Trash-1000
Then try deleting a file from Downloads using Dolphin and see whether it goes to Trash.

One caveat: this is a shared multi-boot setup. If other installed distros use a different numeric user ID, they may need their own .Trash-UID directory. The commands above don't change ownership of the existing folders or files.

Also, is Documents, Downloads, and Music ordinary directories within /mnt/data or separately mounted BTRFS subvolumes?
