Well now the thin cast client does not work anymore. I made some changes to the group policy, undid those changes, and still will not work.

I dunno.
I don't think the group policy settings for Windows matter for this application.
And again, using KRFB on Kubuntu and a VNC viewer in Windows is an option to look at as well.Last edited by claydoh; Oct 17, 2026, 09:39 PM.Self-built: Asus PRIME B550M-K/Ryzen 5600GT/32Gb/Intel ARC B580 12Gb/KDE neon

I have not had good experiences with VNC in the past. They are all paid now. I will look into it. I did not make any changes. Here is hoping KDE 6.8 fixes all the problems with KRDP. I read up on the changes for krdp and it is allot. Long time needed. This is where gnome shines, is their remote desktop stuff. But I despise gnome.
Thanks for all the help.

I need some help on reporting something to Ubuntu/Canonical.
I had someone compile KRDP and I was able to connect to that linux box directly from windows.
I installed KDE Neon into a VM, and KRDP worked.
Then I installed Ubuntu - gnome, and RDP worked.
I tried the following Kubuntu Versions from Canonical: Kubuntu Studio 26.04, Kubuntu 26.10, and Kubuntu 26.04 and installed KRDP onto all of them, and none of them worked.
All of these were in a Virtual machine, and I made sure the VM had bridged networking in virtualbox so the VMs would adopt the local networks IP addresses.
Something that canonical is doing when packaging kubuntu and KRDP is messing things up.
I tried KRFB, and had the same results. I suspect it is much the same thing as krdp.
If anyone has any ideas please let me know.
