[Post-Install] What if I want a server repository that is near me but not on discover drop down list

I live close to a school that I have used for my Debian update, used them for a long time and because the server is close to me they are fast. Example of a line in my sources.list.d deb http://debian.cc.lehigh.edu/debian/ trixie main contrib non-free-firmware non-free
What can I do to have the same school offering the updates for Kubuntu? They are not an offering in the Discover drop down list. If I have to I could use Duke University but the server is several States away from me.

Remember that Kubuntu is Ubuntu, so it is possible that they also offer Ubuntu repos. I would be a little surprised if they didn't. So you'd just need to find out what their URL is. You might ask around. It might not be published.

Ubuntu repo URLs are actually load balancers that do try to get you to a server based on things like speed and capacity, and proximity is not always faster. But being a university means it is a good chance it will be.

Use the Software Sources tool for this, though I assume this is what you are using, as Discover itself does not have such a dropdown, and I was having a brain cramp.

You might also consider using the "find best server" option, but I find this a pain, as the fastest server one day is not at all fast on others.

To add this if they do have a repo , you would need to edit /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ubuntu.sources in a similar manner you see on your Debian system.

    Self-built: Asus PRIME B550M-K/Ryzen 5600GT/32Gb/Intel ARC B580 12Gb/KDE neon
    HP Elitedesk 800 G3 Mini: i5-7500T(35w)/32Gb/Kubuntu LTS
    HP Chromebook 14: i5-1135G7/8Gb/512Gb SSD/KDE Linux

Thanks. I have always found their servers to be fast and responsive.
