[Hardware] USB Pen Drives That Often Don't Work

    Hi,
I've had several USB pen drives suddenly stop working, failing to mount, resulting in an error. Even with the repair tool, they don't work again. However, when I insert them into a Windows 10 or 11 system, the repair tool starts working again, even in Kubuntu.
What causes these USB pen drives to crash in Kubuntu?
If it's a bug, when will it be fixed?
    I'm using Kubuntu 25.10.

Are you strictly using the "safely remove" function before removing the USB sticks? Because Linux buffers i/o to available memory, dolphin and other tools will report a copy finished before writing to the USB has finished, long before with USB 2. There has been much discussion about this (IMO) misfeature.
    Regards, John Little
