    [System] Updates snaps and apt

    Hi,
Returning user, so back in my day everything was in apt, sudo apt update/grade did everything. Now it's snaps for some apt for other, and some have both. Snaps also have a fodler in my home. Is there an easy explanations about snaps and not snap and which to use ? I never know if I should be looking for a snap or not, and miss the very simple apt updates everything.
    Thanks:<br />Using a Toshiba A300-21H ,3GB ram,Intel Core2Duo 2Ghz,Mobile Intel® GMA 4500MHD,intel wifi link 5100. Tux wants you!

It isn't really that difficult. Continue to use sudo apt ... if that's what you are used to. For Snaps and Flatpaks, just open Discover and update what it shows afterwards.

Snaps (and flatpak) offer things that are more up to date than what's in the apt archives, or aren't there at all.

They are 'sandboxed' so they are completely separate from your system so you are vastly safer from the traditional update breakages we can sometimes see.

Both are distro-agnostic, so can be used on most distros. Debs are very much distro and distro-version specific in most cases.

There are also the usual political greivances, as well as some technical ones. You will see a lot of that out in linux-sphere.
