I seem to have messed up a few things after I upgraded to 25.10. I've been making backups using Timeshift and have a snapshot of my computer that I made right before I upgraded to 25.10. Can I restore that without causing a problem?

I have never done this using Timeshift using rsync., but this is supposed to work. I am not sure if you would want or need to do this from a live USB session or not, but it seems like you wouldn't.
You'd need to install timeshift in the live session, or just use a Mint live session (it is included there). It probably will take a while. As a Linux Mint tool, you can find others' experiences in their forums, as well as general Ubuntu users' experiences in various places.
If you use BTRFS snapshots, Timeshift would definitely work, from the desktop, and be as quick as a reboot. I have done this exact thing many times when testing release upgrades on real hardware.
