[Desktop] Adding programs to empty panel

After adding an empty panel to the desktop, I like to add browsers and a couple of other programs in it, but it's been very hard to do on 25.04. I usually just drag the app off of the start menu over to the panel and release it and it goes right onto the panel in 24.04, and I've had a couple of them work on 25.04 but only a couple. Most of them won't let me do it. Is there a better way to add programs to an empty panel in 25.04?

Any specific ones? I have no issues at all in Plasma 6.3 here.
Are you dragging from your favourites or from the menus themselves?

Dragging from the menus themselves. No particular ones. For some reason it lets me add one each time I turn the PC on and log in. After that, it stops accepting them.
