Flash player for 64 bit AMD system

Hi,

I've recently installed Kubuntu and I'm having trouble with getting flash to work, I thought I'd fixed it but now some videos play but with no sound and other videos just show a blank space (not even the usual upgrade flash player notice). This happens in youtube and bbc iplayer

From trying things in terminal (sudo apt-get -f update and similar) i would appear to have the most up-to-date flash player.

Any ideas on how to sort this out?
