Help! Can't delete runaway print jobs!

    Kubuntu 9.10, hp deskjet printer.

Yes, please, anyone know if is there a command i can type into Konsole terminal that will delete the 50 or so print jobs i've got qued up for my hp deskjet? HP "delete print jobs" option appears to have disappeared with upgrade from Kubuntu 9.04.

This is what i've tried that hasn't worked. So far. (Like if i do something a bijllion times over maybe it will work?)

    reboot
    printer off/on
lprm command i found at linux man pages, http://ss64.com/bash/
    internet, forums searches

Thanks! Especially on behalf of my teenage daughter who has to turn in her homework. PRINTED. Oh dear! Maybe i'll just have to put a single sheet of paper thru 50 or so times to get those weird jobs off!

This is how far i got with man cancel. Maybe i forgot to mention i am computer illiterate.

      (1) KONSOLE INPUT> man cancel

      (2) KONSOLE RETURN

      NAME
      cancel - cancel jobs

      SYNOPSIS
      cancel [ -E ] [ -U username ] [ -a ] [ -h hostname[ort] ] [ -u username ] [ id ] [ destination ] [ destination-id ]

      (3) KONSOLE INPUT> cancel

      (4) NO RETURN. (Which means, i think, command accepted!) (But no print jobs delete.)

      (5) INPUT> cancel -E

      (6) NO RETURN. (And no print jobs delete)

      (7) INPUT> cancel -E -samayas

      (8) A RETURN!

cancel: Error - unknown option 's'!
