Configuring LIRC with Creative iNFRA CDROM

Hi,

I've roamed around and couldn't find a solution to my problem - I can't set up this old CDROM and LIRC together.

I have /dev/lircd, but no /dev/lirc, and the irw command doesn't receive the control's signals.

All I could find is these recurring messages in the syslog:

I'll appreciate any help setting this up very much
