    w32codecs

I am not able to install w32codecs in Kubuntu 9.10 this is the following message I receive.
The following packages have unresolvable dependencies.
Make sure that all required repositories are added and enabled in the preferences. Below this message is the following w32codecs:

Depends: libstdc++5(>=1:3.3.4-4) but it is not installable

    Can anyone please help?

    Thanks.

    Re: w32codecs

Are you certain that your medibuntu entry in the package manager is pointing to karmic?

The version number of the libstdc++ in the error message seems to be referring to jaunty.

      Re: w32codecs

As the "skunk" told the w32codecs in the Karmic should not depend of the libstdc++5.

The libstdc++5 has been removed from the Karmic repositories > Re: Karmic Release Schedule, Plans, KDE 4.3 (FINAL) >> libstdc++5 removed from karmic?

The w32codecs dependency has been fixed. Here the w32codecs is telling:
      Code:
      apt-cache show w32codecs
      Package: w32codecs
      Version: 20071007-0medibuntu5
      Architecture: i386
      Maintainer: Medibuntu Packaging Team <medibuntu-maintainers@lists.launchpad.net>
      Installed-Size: 32860
      Depends: libc6 (>= 2.1)
      ...
      and the sources have:
      Code:
      cat /etc/apt/sources.list.d/medibuntu.list
