After bug fix and updates to 2.6.31-22 KERNEL. grub do not see kernel

Hi
I just done 2.6.31-22 updates and bug fix which ask me to restart
after that no grub menu at all only command line grub/
as I disable in start up manager to show only one entry i cannot select anything
Do I NEED live cd and do sudo update? or there a quick one,also just before restart I install synaptic
Please help

thank you for HELP after reading and trying all possible command in sh:grub> nothing works
I get error unknown command or no kernel loaded.
WHAT THE POINT OF THIS FORUM IF NO ONE NO ONE HELPING -((((((((((((((((((((

It has only been a few hours, not everyone reads the all the forum posts all day long
Plus Kubuntu does not have "Startup Manager", so maybe some of us aren't familiar with it without first looking it up to see what it is.....

But you can chill a little, and read this documentation on how to repair/recover grub from the livecd
