Keyboard inactive during Grub stage of boot [solved]

When I start the computer, if I touch Caps lock or Num Lock my wireless logitech keyboard & mouse responds: the hub lights change accordingly. However, as soon as the grub screen appears they stop.. The kernel is selected automatically and then they respond again.

Not a show stopper, but I can't, for instance, enter recovery mode..

Some BIOS's have a setting pertaining to the input of your keyboard (ie PS/2 or USB) and it is possible that it's set to PS/2 and not USB.

Having said that, I haven't personally seen one in a few years that didn't figure it out on it's own (it was more around the time when USB keyboard/mice/etc. were 'new' and 'rare') but it is definitely worth checking.

    Hope that helps

    Cheers
