Screen problems with Ku9.10 Live CD on HP dv--- laptop.

Coming from Ku9.04 on one of my desktop machines, I decided to replace Fedora 8 KDE because its yum repositories now appear dead. But when the installation of the just downloaded Live CD finishes on the laptop, the KDE desktop display is cluttered with headline-sized fonts, and when I click on an icon I get a compressed image that can't be read.

I tried the F6 approach and set the vga=771 parameter recommend. But that didn't help.

    Anybody have a clue?

    TIA

When you want a useful answer you'll have to tell us what hardware you are running, especially the make and type of video card needs to be known.

Have you checked the md5 of the downloaded iso?
