Kubuntu on Mac, a good idea?

I dual booted 9.10 using parallels desktop, the install was fine, Kwin effects worked perfectly, but was it really designed to just stay in the PC range of machines? P.s. I use a 13.3 inch intel dual core MacBook Pro, with 8GB of RAM.

A MacBook Pro is a PC range machine, however it is already running Unix. OSX is a GUI for a Debian/Unix core. Since Kubuntu is Linux which, way back when it was created, came from a Unix core, you might say you are just juggling desktops. To each his own. Happy computing.
