    User interface for fstab manipulations

Is there a more user-friendly way to manipulate /etc/fstab than editing it manually? I thought there might be something in Systems Settings but there doesn't seem to be. I believe the older kcontrol had a section for that.

Not sure exactly. Is that what
    mountmanager
    does?

      Mountmanager

I've installed mountmanager and it does what I want, although the way to do things is somewhat confusing. For instance, it isn't obvious how to create a mount point for a partition. One necessary step is to create the mounting directory, and mountmanager doesn't do that for you (unlike the mount manager in the Kubuntu installer).
