Xsane only scans vertical strip with no area

    Hi all,

Trying to use Xsane at the moment with the HP officejet 5610 at home, this used to work with previous Kubuntu I was running (hardy). At the moment it only seems to scan a vertical strip and I don't know how to fix the problem. It says "0.00cm x 31.17cm" so theorically has no area and I don't know to change the setting for this.

I even tried getting the new HPLIP from the HP website.

Can someone pls help with this?

This might be a long shot, but I have noticed that with Xsane you need to choose the section that you want to scan, on the preview window. If for some reason the window is selected by mistake or just a small part, that is all that it is going to scan. you need to choose the preview window. There you will preview a scan and then choose the section of the scan in the preview window that you want to scan. then scan what you want.

    hope that helps
