    Where did my packages go?

A few packages seem to have gone missing. I downloaded some and cannot find them anywhere, (namely 'soundkonverter' and a game 'briquolo'). Normally DL'd packages go straight to the right folder on the 'Kickoff Application Launcher' but I can't find these two anywhere. I have tried the search above the Kickoff but nothing comes up.

Come to think of it, this isn't the first time this has happened. But as I didn't really know what I was doing before, I just assumed they hadn't DL'd correctly.

Could somebody tell me where I can find them? How do I do a search and launch packages that don't get listed automatically?

    Thanks for your time.

I simple way to find out is to open synaptic (if you don't have it, install it)

Find the package you are looking for and right click->properties.
There you will find information on version, etc and also where it is installed to.

You can then add your application to kickoff with menu editor (right click kickoff)

I prefer synaptic over kpackagekit as it is more stable and reliable.

    Hope that helps.
