remove network manager - unable to install WICD or find internet access

done a bit of a search and people suggested getting rid of the Net manger so i did

then tried installing the package via kpackage no go (no internet) then via my desktop via memory pen still gives me the error message

so with net manager completey removed i was back scratching my head so reinstalled K9.04 and starting again with a net connection

in the terminal WICD isnt seen and gives me yet another error

any clues on how to succeed with this ?? spent all day messing and no WICD still on crappy NM

follwing my testing times after re-installing

i went to terminal sudo apt-get install wicd - it auto removes the application lol

note to self do not remove the package unless you know what your doing

wicd auto removes and installs very easy been a long day but we got there
