    Ndiswrapper not working..... help!

I have read several posts saying to get Ndiswrapper gtk from adept I can't find adept maybe jaunty Jackalope doesn't support it I don't know but in Kubuntu I have to use a driver for my internet that is not native to Linux and I'm no good at command lines.

I need help getting my Internet working I can not hook up my computer to the internet to download anything like WIRED but I do have a dual boot with windows, that I would like to get off of my machine it has Internet, so if I'm told that I have to download a deb then I can do it in windows and use it in Linux.

If I have to do it in command line that's fine but I basically just need a guide on how to.

    thanks,

Bumping after four minutes? How fast do you think this forum works

Anyway, use either/or lspci or lshw in a konsole to find out what kind of wireless chip you have and report back here.

          That's an OLD device!

          Try this:

If you are running wicd and it doesn't connect you may have to remove Wicd and put KNetworkmanager back on

A computer "generation" is 3 years. Your device first appeared more than 4 years ago:

                But, back to the topic....

I will try that link anyway though.
What happened when you tried what the link suggested?

                  Re: Ndiswrapper not working..... help!

well if you think you must use ndiswrapper hear you nead them both ........and utils depends on libc6 witch depends on 2 others and thats ware I stoped so see if you have libc6 allreadey befor you go eney further with this adventure.

                  type
                  Code:
                  locate libc6 | less
if you get a bunch of stuff refering to libc6 your good..............the q key wil get you out of it.

so if your good with that libc6 get both of these installed and then get back for the rest.......

                  http://mirrors.kernel.org/ubuntu/poo...buntu1_all.deb

                  http://mirrors.kernel.org/ubuntu/poo...untu1_i386.deb

hint .............the rest wil requiere the XP drivers for the card :P

no realey get back you must do the ndiswrapper thing just right if your going to try it.
